COPS Community Policing Development (CPD) Microgrants are designed to address the following needs for law enforcement agencies nationwide:
RECRUITMENT programs to locate and hire new law enforcement officers.
RETENTION programs to encourage experienced law enforcement officers to stay with their department and mentor new officers.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & OUTREACH programs to foster a cooperative, trust-based relationship with the people in your jurisdiction.
REPUTATION MANAGEMENT initiatives to provide positive messaging and enhance communication.
PUBLIC AWARENESS initiatives to promote understanding of your agency’s mission and core values.
Investment and Return
There is a one-time $2500 engagement fee to enable coordination and administration of the grant application process. COPS Community Policing Development award recipients will receive customized resources to support critical staffing needs and bolster community engagement programs at no additional cost, including:
